Wide-Margin Study Editions
Editions designed as tools for the study-minded reader:
Extra wide margins for note taking.
Bleed-resistant pages for marking and notation.
Thoughtfully laid out large layout formatting.
Reflections sections for long-form thoughts and note taking.
Detailed editing to ensure consistency with the original texts.
Editor preface contextualizing the work.
This example spread, taken from Jesus the Christ, by James E Talmage, shows several key elements available in my curated editions:
Wide margins - A two inch outside margin in this case
Clear layout - This three column layout is familiar to those within Talmage’s faith tradition. Given this context, font and spacing optimally balance readability and density for readers across this 8.5 by 11 inch page. Each edition’s formatting is designed to best suit its specific audience and as such, different formatting features, such as a single column layout or larger text are present in other works.
The page is thoroughly edited ensuring consistency with the original. Essential elements are preserved and text is reproduced faithfully. As part of this, in Jesus the Christ, by James E. Talmage, dual pagination structures are present, with the main page numbers at the bottom of the page, while original publication page numbers and footnotes are preserved within the text. Similar editorial choices can be seen in other works to preserve usability and maintain accuracy.
